Ministry of Consumer
Affairs Food & Public Distribution, Govt. of India, issued formal
sanction for the CORE Centre Project, to be managed by Consumer
Coordination Council (CCC) on 15th February 2005. Shri
Sharad Pawar, Hon’ble Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public
Distribution, inaugurated the Project on 15th March 2005 – “World
Consumer Rights Day 2005”. Periodical Reports of the activities of
the CORE Project from 15th March 2005 to 30th June 2010 is
already stands posted in the website. The CORE Project completed

Months on 30th June 2010. The Present Report as on 1st
June 2010 covering the period up to 30th June 2010 gives a comparative
picture of the progress of the Project under various heads.
Highlights:

Over 1, 82, 47,126 hits received from 50 countries across the globe on www.core.nic.in till date.
- Over 10, 41,632 Visits.
- 19,820 Subscribers of CORE Centre E-Newsletter.

More than 1.27 lakh of web pages of contents of different consumer related issues e.g. Caselaws, Acts, regulations, Gist of Judgments, Test Reports, Consumer Studies, Articles etc. are uploaded on CORE website. Every month new pages of contents are being added into CORE website.
- More than 79 Thousand Complaints received from 15th March 2005 to 30th June 2010 from all parts of India and also from abroad.

In the Month of June 2010 CORE had received 988 Online Complaints and 71 Complaints were closed .Remaining (988-71) = 917 Complaints and of these 624 (68.05%) Complaints were resolved.

In the Month of June 2010 CORE had received 50 Hardcopy Complaints and 11 Complaints were closed. Remaining (50-11) = 39 Complaints and of these 07 (18 %) Complaints were resolved.

Hindi version of
CORE Centre website has been launched with selected links.

Arrangements made
for more regional languages such as Telgu, Malayalam & Gujarati
being added.
